Equity is not equality. Knowing the difference, makes the difference.

Equity Matters is dedicated to ensuring every child reaches their full academic and social potential. We work alongside leaders to maximize student agency. Our tailored, transformational approach to adult learning supports educators in accelerating students’ learning using a whole-child lens.

Educational equity is the intentional process of creating and sustaining systems, practices, and environments that ensure every student, regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances, has access to the resources, opportunities, and high-quality instruction needed to thrive.

Our Purpose

Equity is not about giving all students the same resources; it’s about giving each student what they need to succeed, ensuring that every learner has a clear and accessible path to their fullest potential.

At Equity Matters Consulting, we believe that achieving educational equity means:

  • Eliminating systemic barriers that disproportionately affect marginalized student groups.

  • Providing grade-level access to rigorous, meaningful, and culturally relevant instruction.

  • Fostering inclusive school cultures where every student feels valued and supported.

  • Empowering educators to use data-driven, evidence-based strategies to close opportunity gaps.

Our Commitment

At Equity Matters Consulting, our commitment to equity and accelerated learning is embodied in our innovative Five-Course Framework. This unique approach ensures that every aspect of teaching and learning is designed with equity, access, and student success in mind.

Each "course" in the framework addresses a vital component of educational equity, helping educators create a holistic, inclusive, and impactful learning experience for all students.

The Five-Course Framework is more than a methodology—it’s a commitment to transforming classrooms into spaces where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Our tailored approach ensures that we focus on the areas most needed by your school or district, creating sustainable and impactful change.

Our Approach

In addition to having our CEO as your partnership manager, your organization will be assigned a coach and set of facilitators who will design, facilitate, and support your organization’s arc of programming.

Go slow to go fast.

Get specific.

Support and institutionalize.

Our facilitators initiate programming with a Staff Kickoff to introduce the work of equity in teaching and learning through self-reflection through our SERVE framework:
SEE STUDENTS, EDUCATE TO HIGH LEVELS, REFLECT ON OUR BIASES, VARY PERSPECTIVES, & ENGAGE ALL LEARNERS.

Our facilitators work alongside school leaders to enhance and develop knowledge, skills, mindset, and competencies through iterative, engaging, facilitated sessions to illuminate accelerated learning so they can create inclusive environments to disrupt the status quo.

Our facilitators support iteration of habitual practices by working alongside leaders to provide ongoing and consistent feedback and reflection to propel the team toward sustainability and self-accountability.
